it's been a while, but it was promised during the 789 workshops to update this website with a list of the different European hitchhiking related clubs & websites, so here it comes. Please update the relevant hitchwiki articles if you know more!

It was quite a trip for me. Starting in Copenhagen through Berlin, Warsaw, L'viv, Kiev and finally Odessa. im not sure if i would have made it without the assistance ov so many great people in the face ov adversity. The time we spent talking and sharing stories was grand. Waking up on the nudist/gay beach was a treat both days(those who were there know what i mean). The weather was perfectly sunny and only a drop or two ov rain. There were less people than Paris 888, but those that did show up are die-hard fans ov the sport. For that is what it is, a sport.

You are very likely to be traveling while reading this e-mail. Or you might be at one of the pre-meetings that are organised in various places. If so, we hope you are doing great and that you met a lot of hitchhikers already!

For all who want to participate in the second European hitchhiking-week, it's now possible to register at this website. When registering, you can choose if you are coming to Odessa, and from where you're starting your trip. Maybe some fellow hitchhikers are just around the corner to hitchhike to 789 together with you?

The 789 project is a festival about hitchhiking. It is organized during the International Hitchhiking Week. On 07/08/09, hundreds of hitchhikers that started a few days earlier from all around Europe will reach Odessa on the shore of the Black Sea, to spend the weekend there.

The aim of the festival is to spread awareness about hitchhiking. To reduce prejudice, to promote it as a normal way of transportation. It's ecological, it's fun, it's good for you!

And to meet up with old travel buddies :)
